| The Mediterranean Water Forum in its 5th edition was held held at Tunisia from February 05 to 07, 2024 at the invitation of Ministère tunisien de l’Agriculture, des Ressources Hydrauliques et de la Pêche et du Ministère de l’Environnement. During the event, Elena Lopez-Gunn (ICA Team) presented the TRUST project in the side event “Transformative Water Resources Management-smart and resilient solutions for climate change challenges across the Mediterranean”. Issam Nouri (INAT Team) participated as a panelist in the same side event, as a partner of TRUST and TALANOA-WATER projects, answering the following questions about key measures on integrated water resources management on climate resilience. |

IINCENTE 2023
The ICENTE 2023 has been organised in Konia (Turkey) from 23 to 25 November 2023. ICENTE 2023 is a multidisciplinary conference formed by the combination of engineering branches (Biomedical, Computer, Electrics & Electronics, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Metallurgy & Materials and Civil Engineering). The main purpose of our conference is to provide a platform to share and discuss the latest information and innovations in engineering fields. With this opportunity, our academicians, scientists, and research fellows had the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience in different fields of engineering discipline.
During the conference, a partner of the Trust project (EGE University) held an oral presentation on improving the quality of in-situ pretreated textile wastewater for reuse applications by adsorption These results are produced in the framework of the TRUST project.

Gree Med 2023, 15 November 2023
On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and the 15th anniversary of the Union for the Mediterranean, CNR is organizing a workshop in Naples on 15 November, in the framework of the Day of the Mediterranean. High officials of Italian Ministries, representatives of Research and Innovation entities as well as of business world will attend the meeting.
The main objective is to discuss needs and opportunities to reinforce joint efforts of Research Centers, Universities and Industry representatives towards a Green MED and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
Dr. Alberto Figoli e Dr Catia Algieri of CNR-ITM participated in this event “Green Med: Research, Innovation and Employability” organised by the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM). The event was held in person at the University Federico II (Naples) on 15th November 2023.

6th EcoSummit, 13-17 June 2023

International Conference ASEPELT, 5th - 7th July 2023

At the XXXVI International Conference Asepelt entitled ‘Inequality, Poverty, Exclusion and Policy Implications for a Better World’, held at the University of Évora (Portugal) from 5 to 7 July 2023, the oral presentation ‘Reducing Costs and Promoting the Circular Economy: A Sustainable Approach to Wastewater Treatment in the Textile Industry’ was presented. This intervention highlighted the importance of industrial water reuse in the framework of the circular economy, with special emphasis on its application in countries such as Tunisia and Turkey. The study addressed the economic and environmental feasibility of implementing advanced wastewater treatment projects, highlighting the potential to reduce costs and minimise dependence on water resources. Results were presented demonstrating how innovative technologies, such as filtration and reverse osmosis, allow water to be regenerated and reused in textile production processes. The presentation showed that, in addition to being economically feasible, these solutions contribute to sustainability and the fulfilment of global environmental objectives. In particular, the challenges associated with the initial investment and the policies needed to encourage the adoption of these technologies in emerging economies were discussed. |

HIDRODER 25 – 27 May, 2023
HIDRODER 2023 symposium was organized in Trabazon Turkey from 25 to 27 May 2023. in order to effectively provide the scientific communication needed in the research, development, protection and sustainable management of water resources, especially groundwater, in Turkey. Hidroder is the National Association of Hydrogeologists. Dokuz Eylul University, partner of the TRUST project, held an oral presentation on two different proceeding from the TRUST project.
EGU23 General Assembly, 23-28 April 2023
The EGU23 General Assembly 2023 
has been organized in Vienna (Austria) from 23 to 28 April 2023. The EGU General Assembly 2023
brought together geoscientists from all over the world to one meeting covering all disciplines of the Earth, planetary, and space sciences. The EGU aims to provide a forum where scientists, especially early career researchers, can present their work and discuss their ideas with experts in all fields of geoscience. During the conference, Dokuz Eylul University held an oral presentation on Groundwater Flow Modeling Applications for the Impact Assessment of Treated Wastewater Reuse by Managed Aquifer Recharge. These results are produced in the framework of the TRUST project.
CAV2022
Clays Application and Valorisation and MMS2022 - Minerals and Materials Sciences, an international joint meeting co-organised by Tunisian Clay Group and Italian Association for the Study of Clays. It will be held on 17-21 December 2022 in Hammamet-Tunisia.
EUROMEMBRANE 2022
The conference was held on November 20-24, 2022 in Sorrento (Naples, Italy) and was organized by CNR-ITM in cooperation with Alma 
Mater Studiorum University of Bologna. The conference was attended by almost 700 participants of European and non-European nationality for a total of 47 represented countries. The scientific program consisted of 4 plenary lectures, 56 keynote lectures and 404 oral presentations. In particular two oral presentations of research work performed in the framework of the TRUST project were held by Prof. Vincenza Calabro and Dr. Catia Algieri.
Conference ICACEST
Partecipation at the 1st International Congress on Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Separation Techniques (ICACEST’2022) was held on October 15-16 2022 in Tlemcen (Algeria) at the University Abou Bekr Belkaid.
Fatima Zohra El Berrichi’s presentation was an oral presentation entitled “Modification of palygorskite and its application in treatment of textile and pharmaceutical effluents”.
Visit to Tangier, Morocco
Team from UNICAL has participated in the “Second International Symposium on Nanomaterials and Membrane Science for Water, Energy and Environment –Desalination and Reuse in the Face of Water Scarcity” organized by Moroccan Membrane and Desalination Society (SMMD) at
Royal Tulip hotel, Tangier, Morocco from June 01 – 02, 2022.
There were two presentations from UNICAL in collaboration with ITM-CNR.
The first oral presentations were done by Prof. Vincenza Calabro in the topic “To study the effectiveness of Zinc Oxide nanoparticles immobilized on Thin Film Composite (TFC) membrane for removal of Methyl Orange”. Some of the trust results was presented there which was done by Masters student and also part of the doctoral work.
The second presentation was done by Dr. Sudip Chakraborty which was a Keynote lecture entitled “Plasmonic Nanomaterials for Environmental applications” .
The conference was well attended by undergraduate/graduate students from many different Mediterranean countries. The conference was a platform for dissiminating

EUROMEMBRANE 2021
The EUROMEMBRABE 2021 conference took place in Copenhagen (Denimark) from 28 November to 2 December 2021.The conference was attended by 450 participants from the academic and industrial sector and was occasion to exchange ideas in membrane field. The scientific program included 52 sessions with 4 plenary and 27 keynote lectures, 161 oral and 300 posters. A poster was presented by Catia Algieri for highlighting the overall objectives of the TRUST project.
EUROMEMBRANE 2021
The EUROMEMBRANE has been organized in Denmark being a leading membrane countries, with more than 50 years of large-scale membrane production. The idea of hosting Euromembrane 2021 in Copenhagen was endorsed by many membrane scientists all over Scandinavia including scientists from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), the University of Southern Denmark, University of Copenhagen, Chalmers University of Technology, Stockholm University, Luleå University of Technology and Lappeenranta University of Technology.
