Saurav Bhattacharyya, a Ph.D. student from the ITM(CNR)/DIMES, Universita della Calabria, Italy, part of the PRIMA_TRUST project, spent three months (October 16, 2023, to January 12, 2024) at the Institute Européen des Membranes (IEM), Montpellier University, France, under the supervision of Prof. Marc Heran. During this period, his evaluated the performance of developed photocatalytic membranes in the treatment of both synthetic and real wastewater originating from the textile industry.

Visit of the Professor Raja Ben Amar (Partner 8).. She’s a professor at the Sfax University (Tunisia). She visited Cartia Algieri, a Researcher at the Institute Institute on Membrane Technology (P2 - ITM-CNR) on October 2023. Both partners of the TRUST project work in collaboration on the development of membranes for the treatment of industrial wastewater, in the frame of Work Package 1 (WP1) activities.

The Ph.D. Student, Zouhaier Salah, from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Sfax (Tunisia), spent about two months (September-October 2023) at the Institute on Membrane Technology (ITM-CNR) under the supervision of Dr. Catia Algieri and in the framework of the TRUIST project, During this period, the student focused the research activities on the removal of recalcitrant drugs by using novel membranes.

Raja Ben Amar, Professor at Sfax University, visited Joelle Duplay, Researcher at the Institute of Earth and Environment in Strasbourg (ITES), in March 2022. Both partners of TRUST project work in collaboration on the development of low cost membranes using clays and zeolite from Tunisia and Algeria (provided by Zora El Berrichi, partner from University of Guelma) among others. These materials doped with metals will be tested in industrial effluents’ treatment through adsorption and photocatalysis. During her stay in Strasbourg, materials and several synthesized nanocomposites were observed by scanning electron microscope and characterized by X-Ray diffraction.
